About

This site has information about the Wickham Family descended from Thomas Wickham.  He emigrated from Great Britain to the colonies in 1662 and began his life here in Rhode Island. His descendants eventually moved to Orange County, Long Island.

It was from Orange County that Thomas’ great grandson William and his wife Phebe Rose left to become the first permanent white settlers of Hector, NY arriving in the spring of 1791. The Wickham Family Reunion is an annual celebration of that arrival.  The program from the first Wickham Reunion states that it was held on the “Original Homestead of the Pioneer Settler, William Wickham”, on Thursday, August 20, 1891.
